O grupo Iliad bem que tentou comprar a T-Mobile US

Iliad shook up the French mobile market when it launched mobile offers of as little as € 2 a month in 2012, forcing rivals such as Orange SA and SFR to cut prices.

The company, founded and majority-owned by entrepreneur Xavier Niel, said it added 820,000 new mobile subscribers in the first half, giving it a 16% market share three years after launch. It now has almost 17 million subscribers in fixed and mobile, it said.

"The market is still competitive in terms of price, but in this context we're doing well," Iliad Chief Financial Officer Thomas Reynaud said in an interview.

Iliad, whose Free mobile services compete with Orange SA, Numericable-SFR and Bouygues Telecom, is gradually building out its own network, which also is helping to boost profitability. The company signed an agreement with Orange SA to carry its mobile traffic when it first entered the market, but that contract is due to expire in 2018.

Although prices have showed signs of stabilizing in recent months, French telecom executives have been reluctant to call an end to a brutal price war. Executives have called for a reduction in the number of mobile operators from four to three in a move they say would increase margins and allow them to boost investment.

Last year, Iliad was rebuffed in its effort to buy U.S. operator T-Mobile U.S. Inc., a deal worth around $15 billion.

In one hour, the Senate resumes voting against the internet.
    Tell them you're watching: 1-985-222-CISA. #StopCISA

Senate has voted down ALL the pro-privacy amendments to CISA, because this is not a cybersecurity bill, it's a surveillance bill

We'll name the names of people who voted in favor afterwards. A vote for #CISA is a vote against the internet.
